Adobe For Mac Air

admin 12/14/2021

There are some considerations before you get and load more into the drive of your Mac.

How large are those programs? What is their load on the CPU and GPU? How full is the

capacity of the storage drive now? Before you add stuff, these are potential issues.

If the Installer displays an Authenticate window, enter your Mac OS user name and password. Install the runtime on a Linux computer. Note: At this time, AIR 2.7 and later are not supported on Linux. AIR applications deployed to Linux should continue to use the AIR 2.6 SDK. Adobe AIR is installed to the following location: /opt/Adobe AIR.

Adobe
  • Apple Safari version 14, released for macOS in September 2020, will no longer load Adobe Flash Player or play Flash content. Please visit Apple’s Safari support for more information.
  • For instructions, see Install an older version of Adobe Reader on Mac OS. Double-click the.dmg file. (If you don't see the Safari Downloads window, click Finder (User Name) Downloads.) Double-click Install Adobe Acrobat Reader DC to start the installation.

Could be you may put too much at stake; I suggest you research possible use of these

additional applications on an external drive, where they won't load internal hard drive?

This idea may require due consideration and an upgrade to enable use of external as

repository for additional applications should the internal storage be too small.

External storage with fast data connection (external should have power supply) may

be an answer. For some tasks, a more sturdy macbook/pro or desktop mac is best.

Much has been unsaid, but the storage/SSD seems small for those plus macOS apps.

And there should also be some free work-space for virtual memory on even an SSD.

Hardware consideration before new or additional software, & means to use it are first.

Why did Adobe decide to discontinue further support for Adobe AIR for desktop Linux®?

As the market shifts to mobile devices, Adobe is investing in bringing its runtime technologies to new hardware and operating systems. We are increasingly investing in mobile authoring, and our recent Creative Suite 5.5 release is focused on enabling customers to deliver experiences across devices using our technologies. We have responded to the changing market by providing AIR support for a growing number of platforms, including Android, iOS and BlackBerry Tablet OS, televisions, and set top boxes. Lifetime AIR for Linux desktop downloads represent less than 0.5% of total AIR desktop downloads, which number over 450 million, and we have decided to change our distribution model for Linux and direct these resources toward mobile efforts. Our efforts are focused on supporting operating systems that are most important to our customers, partners, and developers. You can download AIR 2.6, the last version to support Linux, on the archive build page.

I currently use the AIR SDK for Linux on my build server; how does this announcement affect this process?
Adobe will no longer be supporting the full AIR developer SDK for desktop Linux implementations, and the AIR Debug Launcher (ADL) will no longer be supported in the SDK.
